S·00Software studio · South Africa

We design, build and rescue web and mobile software. And we make our own apps.

For founders and product teams: senior engineers from the first scope to the production release. Our first app, Filltide, is in development.

Three ways to work with us

Every engagement is led by the senior engineer who builds it. Pick the shape that fits where you are today.

S·01.1Build

New products, from idea to launch

Web and mobile apps and the backend behind them. We scope it, design it, build it and put it into production.

  • Scope and plan
  • Product design
  • Web and mobile apps
  • APIs, data and infrastructure
S·01.2Rescue

Apps that demo well and break for real

AI-built or inherited code that falls over under real users. We find the actual failure modes, fix them and harden what’s left.

  • Failure-mode audit
  • Root-cause fixes
  • Tests and monitoring
S·01.3Embed

A senior engineer in your team

We join your stand-ups, own a slice end to end, and leave it tested and documented.

  • Hands-on delivery
  • Architecture calls
  • Code review
S·02Process

How a project runs

Four steps, each ending in something you can hold. You can stop after any of them and keep everything.

  1. Step 1: Scope

A short, paid discovery. We work out what to build first, what could sink it, and what it costs.

You getWritten plan, estimate and risks
  2. Step 2: Build

Working software every week, in a link you can click. No status theatre.

You getA demo build every week
  3. Step 3: Launch

Production deploy with monitoring, backups and a security pass before real users arrive.

    You getA live, monitored release
  4. Step 4: Hand over

Docs, tests and a walkthrough. Your team runs it without us, or we stay on.

You getDocs, runbook and a handover session

How we engineer

No portfolio wall here yet. This is what you can hold us to instead.

  • S·03.1

    You own everything.

Code, accounts, designs and IP sit in your name from the first commit.

  • S·03.2

    Working software, weekly.

Progress is something you can click, not a slide deck.

  • S·03.3

    Senior hands only.

The people you talk to are the people writing the code.

  • S·03.4

    Tests decide what ships.

Types, tests and review gate every merge. Nothing goes live on vibes.

  • S·03.5

    AI-assisted, human-judged.

AI speeds the work up. Engineering judgment decides what goes live.

  • S·03.6

    Straight answers.

Clear costs, real risks, and a plain no when we’re not the right fit.

Tools we work in
  • TypeScript

S·04Apps

Our own apps

Alongside client work, we build products of our own. The first one is in development now.

Filltide

South Africa’s fuel price forecast

A mobile app that forecasts the monthly petrol and diesel price change in South Africa before it’s officially announced.

We’ll announce it here when it’s ready to use.

S·05Questions

Before you ask.

Who will work on my project?

Senior engineers only, and you talk to them directly. There are no account managers in between.

Do we own the code?

Yes. Everything lives in your repositories and your cloud accounts from the first commit, and the IP is yours.

How does pricing work?

Scoping is a small fixed fee. Builds are priced per phase; embedded work is a monthly rate. You see the number before we start.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. We start with an audit, so you know what you have before anyone decides what to change.

Where are you based?

South Africa, working with teams worldwide. Calls are scheduled in your time zone.

Do you only build your own apps?

No. Client work is the core of what we do. Our own apps, starting with Filltide, are a second line of business.

Tell us what you’re building.

A 30-minute call or a short written brief. Either way you get a straight answer on fit, timing and cost.
